It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Emma “Helen” Walsh (nee McKenzie) announce her passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the age of 98 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her 12 children; Frances (John), John, Lorraine, Lillian (Gerry), George (Eileen), Gerald, Derek, Tom, Doris (Wayne), Gladys (Raymond), Donna (Mark) and Terry (Dale): 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her husband Thomas Walsh in 2007, parents John and Lillian McKenzie, her 8 siblings Samuel, Milton, Calvin, Colin, Emanuel, Sadie, Lovelette and Ernest: 2 grandchildren Christopher Hill and Carla Menezes. Many thanks to the Staff of the Long Term Care Unit on the great care they provided and compassion they showed. A private family visitation will take place at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Monday, November 30th. A private funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 1st at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake with Rev. Canon Paulette Bugden officiating. Interment to follow at Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery on Wights Road. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
