Robert (Rob) Gordon Walter Hanson It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Robert Hanson, announce his peaceful passing at the Labrador Long Term Care Unit, in Happy Valley Goose Bay on June 11, 2020, at the age of 73 years. Born July 21, 1946 in Grand Falls Windsor. Rob came to work with CBC radio and TV, in 1967 in Happy Valley. He loved Labrador. Also a publisher of the weekly community newspaper “The Examiner”, for a number of years. He was an excellent photographer, taking many beautiful pictures of the wonderful Labrador landscape. Rob enjoyed skidooing and fishing, especially with mug-ups. One of his favorite past-times was driving up the “Freedom road.” Rob is survived by his son Shawn (Angie); Daughter Suzanne; Grandchildren: Katie and Ella; Sister-in-law Yvonne Hanson, as well as a close circle of friends. Predeceased by his son Randy; Parents Cyril and Myra and his brother David. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Home’s, Happy Valley Goose Bay. The funeral took place on Wednesday, June 17th, 2020 from the United cemetery with Rev. Jean Shears officiating. Rest peacefully Rob.
