It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jean Turner announce her passing on Thursday December 25th 2008 at the Western Memorial Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 88. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: John Turner (Bridgette); Grand Falls, Patricia Sullivan (Clarence); Pouch Cove, Jill Turner-Lewis (David); Deer Lake, Grandchildren: Ann Anstey, Robert Turner, Jonah Lewis, Great-Grandchildren: Maia Turner, Samuel Turner, Mara Turner, Margaret Ann Anstey, Sisters and Brothers: Walter Pennell; Deer Lake, Roy Pennell (Minnie); Deer Lake, Phyllis Doucette (Fred); London Ontario, Lorna Chaffey (Frank);Truro Nova Scotia, and special friends Edie Turner; Deer Lake and Nora Hewitt; Stephenville.She was predeceased by her husband Patrick in 1972, parents Sam and Ethel Pennell, grandson Rick Sullivan, brother: Bill and Reuben Pennell and sister in law Joyce Pennell.
Jean was an active member in St Michaels Anglican Church for many years, she was a member of the A.C.W, Alter Guild and Church Choir. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive Deer Lake on Saturday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, Funeral service will be held on Sunday from St Michaels and All Angels Anglican Church at 2 PM with Arch. Bishop Stewart Payne officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Church Cemetery Farm Road. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Anglican Church Accessibility Fund.
