Elwood Vatis Hunt Summerside, NL (August 15, 1942- January 17, 2018 It is with great sadness; that the family of the late Elwood Vatis Hunt announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Corner Brook Long-Term Care at the age of 75. Elwood was born in Summerside, Newfoundland on August 15, 1942 and was the Eldest son of the late Herbert and Vera (Hann) Hunt. Elwood was a loving and caring man who enjoyed life. Beloved husband of the late Diane (Finnegan) Hunt. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his children son Richard Hunt of Oshawa, Ontario, daughter Darlene (Francis) Gallant, grandson Adam Gallant and granddaughter Amy Gallant all from Bowmanville, Ontario. Loving Fiancée Wanda Stevens, two step-daughters Sandra Stevens and Connie Stevens (Jason LeDrew) along with three grandchildren Haley, Mackenzie and Cole; great grandson Jacob who will miss their poppy dearly. Elwood will be greatly missed by brother Manual Hunt and sisters Levenia Mitchell and Dianne (John) Webster all from Summerside, Newfoundland. Elwood is predeceased by his brother Garwin Hunt, brother in law Reginald Mitchell and Sister in law Sonya Hunt. He will be sadly missed by a large circle of extended family and friends. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 19th from 2 – 4 & 7-9 pm pm from St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Summerside from where Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 20th, at 2 pm with Rev. Malcolm Palmer officiating. Interment to follow at Anglican Cemetery Summerside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daffodil Place PO Box 8921 St. John’s, NL A1B 3R9.
