It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Lemuel “Lem” Sheppard announce his passing on Monday, December 1st, 2008 at the age of 82 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 60 years Gladys (nee Murphy), daughter Eunice (Rally) Taylor, Summerside; sons: Robert Sheppard, Ontario and George Sheppard, Fort McMurray; grandchildren: Denis (Lesley Ann), April (Jason), Shelley (Todd), Tracey (Brad), Jeffrey (Becka), Tanya, Charlene, John, Crystal, Scott, Christa and Richard, great-grandchildren: Riley, Emily, Evan, Brady, Sydney, Joey, Vincent and Christopher, sisters-in-law: Annie Sheppard, Summerside, Edna Sheppard, Trout River, Ruby Harrison, Ontario, Violet Wheeler, Summerside and Lottie (Randy) Janes, Cox’s Cove; brothers-in-law: Eldon Crocker, Trout River, John (Norma) Murphy, Ontario, Earl (Laura) Murphy, Summerside and Llewelyn Ruth, Summerside. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents John and Emma Sheppard, daughter Dinah Loder, sisters Alvina (George) Brake, Mildred Crocker, Eliza (Archibald) Ruth and Emma (Joseph) Lundrigan, brothers Hector, Heber, Stanley and Zebede Sheppard, sister-in-law Nina Ruth, brothers-in-law Jim (Theresa) Murphy, Norman Harrison and Maxwell Wheeler. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. At Lem’s request there will be no funeral service. Family and friends are welcome to visit the family residence in Summerside. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or to a Charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
