COMPANION David Alphonsus (Gonzo) September 12th, 1949 - June 3rd, 2007 Cormack, NL Surrounded by his loving family, David Alphonsus Companion passed away on Sunday, June 3rd, 2007 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook at the age of 57 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Sonja; sons: David and Mark; daughter Stephanie (Pat Webb), very special granddaughter Ashley Rae Companion, Corner Brook; sisters and brothers: Yvonne (Jack) Doody, Corner Brook; Henry (Goldie), Pacquet; Agnes (Jack) Taylor, Kelly’s Point; Gert (Herb) Batstone, Corner Brook; Bernard, Wasaga Beach, Ontario; Pauline (Gord) House, Bellburns, Judy (Wade Muggeridge), Pasadena; Ronnie, Corner Brook; and Genny (Amos) Gabriel, St. George’s; father and mother-in-law Firmin and Joan McHugh, Corner Brook; sisters and brothers-in-law: Susan (Bill) Priestly, Eric (Eileen), Don (Diane), Mark (Leslie), Mike (Dianne), Bill (Gail), Gord (Heidi) all of Ontario; special friends Phil and Mary Letto, Cormack; special little friends Caitlyn, Gavin and Brett and his canine companion Sandi. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and teammates. He was predeceased by his parents Cyril and Theresa (Benoit), brother Joseph, nephew Jim Hayes and sister-in-law Paula. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 6th at 2:00 p.m. from the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Deer Lake with Father Aidan Devine officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery, Corner Brook. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the family.
