It is with great sadness that the family of the late Sandra Katherine Hashem announce her passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Tuesday, May 29th, 2007 at the age of 60 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her best friend and partner Marie White, Barachois Brook; daughter Anissa (Peter) Hashem, Oregon; son Sharif (Jennifer) Hashem, Ontario; grandchild Isabel Hashem, Ontario; sister Laurian (Henry) Hancock, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Lauri Narvanen and Stella Halischuk, and step-father Fred Kostner. By request cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 1st at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 7 West Street, Stephenville Crossing, Reverend Karen Laldin officiating. Interment will follow in her home town of Thunder Bay, ON at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
