John “Jack” Farwell Port au Choix, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Farwell announce his passing on Friday, March 21st, 2008 at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders, in his 88th year. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Rita, of 55 years; daughters: Rhoda Butt, Gloria (Calvin) Perry and Juanita (Trevor) Payne; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers: Theodore, Melvin (Ivy) and Roland (Kay); sister Millicent Billard; sister-in-law Sadie Farwell; special niece Doris Hamlyn; special nephew Glenn Newcombe; special friend Hank Rumbolt, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Wilbert and Matilda, brothers Percy, Maxwell, Clayton and Gordon. Visitation took place at St. Thomas Becket Anglican Church in Port au Choix on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The Funeral Service was held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 25th at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Tanya White officiating. Interment followed at the Interfaith Cemetery, Sandy Cove. As expressions of sympathy, donations were made to St. Thomas Becket Anglican Church, Port au Choix. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port au Choix.
