Passed peacefully away on Monday, February 19th, 2007 at the age of 99 years, at the home of her granddaughter Sharon (Harrold) Bennett of Stephenville Crossing, who so lovingly cared for Nanny during the last month of her life. She leaves to mourn five sons: Walter (June), St. Georges, Eldon (Edna), Little Rapids, Howard (Madeline), Humber Village, Ted (Nina), St. Georges and Barry (Elaine), Ft. McMurray, AB; five daughters: Sadi White, St. Georges, Gladys (Raymond) Payne, Stephenville, Ruth (Jules) Swyer, Sudbury, ON, Ruby (Ralph) McKay, Heatherton and Susan (David) Warr, St. Georges; three special grandsons: Melvin (Ruth) Swyer, Sudbury, ON, Aubry (Valma) Swyer, Toronto, ON and Curtis (Jenny) White, Ft. McMurray; 39 loving grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; her two wonderful home care givers: Jessie Snooks and Eva Praught, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by husband Edward (1981) and four brothers: Rodrick, Cecil, Howard and Bertrum Morris. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 7 West Street, Stephenville Crossing, on Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at St. Georges United Church on Friday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Leslie Beddo and Gerald Lonsway. Interment will follow from the Non-Denominational Cemetery, St. Georges. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
