It is with great sadness that the family of the late Maxwell Gordon Butt announce his sudden passing at his family residence on Saturday, October 7th, 2006 at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Beulah (nee Pieroway), children: Ross (Beryl), Stephenville; Jean Skinner (Kevin), St. George’s; Wendell (Cora), Stephenville Crossing; Ronald (Jocelyn), St. George’s; Roy (Betty Kinden), St. George’s; Marilyn Howell (Reg), Stephenville Crossing; Iris Penton (Tom), Fort McMurray, Alb.; Ina Mahu (Will), St. Thomas, Ont.; Danny (Mary Mahar, Fort McMurray, Alb.; Glenda MacKay (Rick), St. John’s; special granddaughter Cathy Dean (Charles), St. Thomas, Ont.; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, brothers: Alton, St. George’s; Thurland, St. George’s; Earl, Grand Falls; sisters: Hilda Hudson, Stephenville Crossing; Jean Sheppard, Corner Brook; Shirley Afflect, Colona, BC.; sisters-in-law: Sybil Butt, Corner Brook; Adeline Butt, St. George’s. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Adelia, father Fredrick, brothers Ray, Wilbert and Roy, 2 grandchildren Shawn and Amanda, sisters Thelma Kryski and June Nelson. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing on Monday from the hours of 7-9 PM and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11th at 2:00 PM from St. George’s United Church with Rev. Kathy Brett officiating. Interment to follow at the United Cemetery, St. George’s. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
