With his family at his side who loved him very much, Terry Samuel Halfyard passed peacefully away on Friday, September 22nd, 2006 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, at the age of 56 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 35 years, Jane (nee Hoyles); 2 children: Kimberly Halfyard (Jason Hynes), Benoit’s Cove and John Halfyard (Denise Dobbin), Corner Brook; father John Halfyard, Corner Brook; grandmother Effie Simmonds, Deer Lake; 4 sisters: Joan Giles (John), Deer Lake, Joy Patey, Corner Brook, Joyce Curran (John), Corner Brook and Glenda Rodway (Bob), Corner Brook; 2 brothers: Heber Halfyard (Paula), St. John’s, Shawn Halfyard, Corner Brook; 2 brothers-in-law: Don Hoyles (Joyce), Corner Brook and Garland Hoyles (Amy), Forresters Point; 2 precious “loves of his life”, his grand-daughters: Mandy Hynes and Olivia Halfyard; close friends: Roy & Donna Haynes, Corner Brook; special aunt and uncle: Muriel and Doug Halfyard, Glenburnie. He also leaves to mourn a large circle of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Rita Halfyard (1996). Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place from Humber United Church, Clarence Street on Monday, September 25th at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Kathy Brett officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy,flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
