It is with great sadness that the family of the late Abraham Burton announce his passing on Thursday, April 27th, 2006 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years. Mr. Burton was a veteran and served in the 166 Royal Artillery as well as the Newfoundland Regiment, he was also a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: seven sons: John (Marion), Brantford, ON , Martin (Irene), Bonavista, David (Mercedes), Piccadilly, Gary (Hilda), St. John`s, Paul, Corner Brook, Darrell, Piccadilly and Raymond, Toronto, ON; one daughter: Diane Burton, Nova Scotia; six grandchildren; sister: Mrs. Lena Webster (Cyril), Corner Brook; two brothers: Pierce Burton, Corner Brook and Hubert (Maxine) Burton, Oshawa, ON, as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Madeline (nee McCarthy) on December 24th, 1983. Friends may visit Fillatre`s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 30th at 2:00 p.m. from the Cathedral of The Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue. Fr. Edwin Gale officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted.
