Shirley B. Ford (nee Stokes) Corner Brook, NL 1938 - 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Shirley Ford announce her sudden passing on Wednesday, February 27th, 2008 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 69 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is her husband, John; daughter: Gail and companion, Wayne; mother: Mrs. May Stokes, St. Lukes, St. John’s; brothers and sisters: Jean Babstock (Carl), Mt. Pearl, Barbara Myles (George), Halifax, Isabel Parsons (Harvey), Benoits Cove, Harold Stokes (Myra), Newtown, Margaret Gillard (Robert), Portugal Cove, Vera O’Keefe (Cyril), Ferryland and Lorne Stokes (Sharon), Mt. Pearl; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews , other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her father, Hubert Stokes. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9: 00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 29th at 11:00 A.M. from the First United Church , Park Street. Reverend Sandra Hounsell-Drover officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made the charity of ones choice.
