<p><span>Samuel Walter Edmunds was born on September 26, 1945 in Happy Valley to Norman and Eliza Edmunds. His parents and relatives were the first families to settle in what would become Happy Valley. He was a lover of history and always had story to share with anyone around town who would listen. An avid sportsman and outdoorsman throughout his life, Walter loved hunting, fishing and being out on the land. He played softball, was a swimmer and a lifeguard, a competitive bowler, and played hockey for more than 65 years. In the end, he passed away at the rink in his gear and skates on October 22, 2017. He leaves behind to celebrate his life, his wife Lilian, daughters Alison and Adrienne; his sister Emily Lukacik, her husband Andrew, and their family; sister Kay Russell, her husband Frank, and their family, sister Gussie Saunders, her husband Sterling and their family, and&nbsp; a host of friends, cousins, and community and church members who will dearly miss his friendly, chatty ways.&nbsp;</span></p>
