<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;">It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hubert Strickland announce his passing on Sunday October 8, 2017 at the Calder Health Care Centre at the age of 96 years. He leaves to mourn his nieces &amp; nephews and a circle of friends. He was predeceased by his wife Johanna. Hubert, at a very young age started his sea going career serving on the schooner the Beatrice Beck that ran from Burgeo to the Bahamas and retired from the cable ship the Lord Kelvin after 27 years of service. He will be put to rest on October 11, 2017 at 2 PM at the Burgeo Community Cemetery.&nbsp;</span></p>
