It is with great sadness that the family of the late Elsie Gillingham announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, February 7th, 2008 at the Interfaith Home surrounded by her loving family in her 95th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters: Kathleen (Bernard) Park, McIvers, Marilyn (Bernard) Park, Cox’s Cove and Regina (Bruce) Drover, Corner Brook; son Austin (Pauline) Gillingham, Cox’s Cove; 25 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, sister Miriam Payne, Lohnes Complex; sister-in-law Hilda Gillingham, Interfaith Home; daughters-in-law: Grace Gillingham, Loretta Gillingham and Sheila Blanchard, special family friends Marjorie Park and Margaret Robertson. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband James, 1979, sons Eric, Gerald, Benjamin, Meryl, Stanley and John, grandson Jerome Gillingham, parents Solomon and Mary Noseworthy, sisters Eileen Park and Olive Wells, brother Basil Noseworthy. Elsie was one of the founding members of the ACW in Cox’s Cove. Friends may visit St. Nicholas’ Anglican Church, Cox’s Cove beginning Friday at 2:00 PM from where the funeral service will take place on Sunday, February 10th at 2:00 PM with Rev. Joan Coles officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Cox’s Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St. Nicholas’ Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook.
