JESSIE BEATRICE SIMMS CORNER BROOK, NL 1917 - 2008 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jessie Simms announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, February 5th, 2008 at the Interfaith Home surrounded by her loving family in her 90th year. Leaving to mourn with precious memories, daughter: Ruby Bartlett (Jerry); sons: Fred (Eileen) and John (Sue); daughter-in-law: Anne; 10 grandchildren: Catherine Gardner (Charles), Carey Bartlett (Donna), Sheri-lynn Moulton (James), Jacquie Penney (Fred), Stephen Simms (Amy), Robert Simms, Lori Corbett (Robert), Pattie Rideout (Jeff), Jamie Simms (Nicole), Kent Simms (Lori); step-grandson: Jack Kendell; ten great grandchildren; sister: Pearl Noel; sister-in-law: Melinda Piercey, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by husband Walter, July 2, 2004, son: James, July 29, 2005; parents, John and Rosanna Piercey; step-mother, Sarah; sisters: Edith Dawe, Mary Pynn, Elizabeth Piercey, Louise Piercey; brothers: Walter, Jacob and Robert Piercey. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Wednesday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8th at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, O’Connell Drive. Majors Ron and Joyce Stuckless officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery.
