<p><span style="font-family: Allegro BT;"><span lang="EN">God looked around his Garden and found an empty space. Then he looked down upon his earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.</span></span></p> <p>It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of James Bartholomew Marche announce his passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn his loving wife and best friend of 69 years Rena; five sons: Gerard (Shirley), Fred (Kathy), Peter (Eleanor), Teddo (Kathy), Gary (Peggy); four daughters: Marie (Dom), Carolyn (Larry), Sandra (Mark), Mary Anne (Joe); 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends.</p> <p>Bart was born in Port au Port to Cecilia & Aloysius and is the last of 9 children. At the age of 12 he began work with the Highways and at the age of 18 he began to work at the Aguathuna Limestone Quarry. In 1955 he began working at the Harmon Air Force Base until he retired in 1986.</p> <p>He was predeceased by his parents Aloysius and Cecilia Marche; brothers: Arthur, Ches, Ron, Raymond; sisters: Jenny, Margaret, Millie, Cecilia and grandson Patrick. Visitation will take place At Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 7 - 9 p.m. with the funeral mass at St. Stephen’s Parish, Stephenville on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 12 noon with Father Vitus Echedo officiating. Inurnment at Hillside Interfaith Cemetery in Stephenville will take place following the service. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation or the Bay St. George Sick Children’s Foundation.</p>
