Obituary of Mary Theresa Hobbs

1927 - 2017 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Hobbs announce her passing on Friday, December 22nd, 2017 at Corner Brook Long Term at the age of 90 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories , her son Jim (Juanette) Griffin, Pasadena, daughter Eleanor Hobbs, and the Hobbs family, New Perlican; brother Joseph (Eileen) Griffin, Curling, and sisters-in-law Ida Griffin and Miriam Griffin both of Curling; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband William Hobbs, brothers Patrick, Anthony and Gerard (Sonny); sisters Margaret (Charlie) Martyn, Gertrude (Tom) Furlong and Kathleen (John) Hearn; and parents Patrick and Mary Griffin. The family would like to send a note of thanks and gratitude to the nurses and LPNs on the 3rd floor, Corner Brook Long Term Care. Granting her wishes, cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends and family may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Saturday, December 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place from Sacred Heart Parish in Curling on Sunday, December 24th at 2:00 p.m. with Father Jim Robertson and Father Joe Gash officiating. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society or to the Bay of Islands SPCA.
