BLANCHARD Bertha St. George's, NL 1937-2005 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertha Blanchard announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Sunday, December 11th, 2005 at the age of 68 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories children: Larry (Naomi), St. Georges, Carl (Bernadine), Flat Bay, Richard (Colleen), Shallop Cove, Mary, Shallop Cove; grandchildren: Lenny, Gizelle, Crystal, Kayleen, Brandon, Braydon, Dustin, Tamara, Shane, Scott, Ashley; sister-in-law Pauline (Don) Bruce, Scarborough, ON; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is predeceased by husband Cornelius; son-in-law Leonard Blanchard and by her parents Jim & Katherine “Cassie” Young. Visitation for friends will begin Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, St. Georges, from where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, December 14th at 10:00 a.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery, Shallop Cove. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Palliative Care Unit or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, West Street, Stephenville Crossing.
