<p align="center">John Baxter</p> <p align="center">Vardy</p> <p align="center">June 15, 1936 – March 18, 2016</p> <p> </p> <p>It is with much sadness that the family of John Baxter Vardy announce his peaceful passing on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital. Left with many wonderful memories are his children: Sharon (Jim) Sharpe, Darrell (Regina) and Sheila (Ian Bell); treasured grandsons: Adam and Darren Sharpe and Brian Bell; sister and brothers: Florence (A.J.) Sherrill, Ron (Shirley) and Bob (Sol); brothers and sisters-in-law: Ray (Geneva) Reid, Elaine Mercer, Lester Pittman, Juanita Reid, Carol Reid, Joyce Reid, Graham Reid, Kathy (Dinzel) Baggs, Barry (Carmel) Reid, Barbara (Ron) Burry and J.J. Harrison; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Annie (2015), parents Heman and Miriam Vardy, father and mother-in-law Gordon and Ruth Reid, sisters Lorraine Pittman and Karen Harrison, brothers Wilson and Gilbert, sister-in-law Bessie Savory, brothers-in-law Doug Mercer, Harry Reid, Roy Reid and Wilfred Savory. Special thank you to all staff 2 South, Corner Brook Long Term Care for their wonderful care; as well as the Emergency and Palliative Care Departments for their compassion and kindness. As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation on Wednesday, March 23 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating.
