<p>Irene Marjorie Simms passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in her 80<sup>th</sup> year. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 60 years Harvey; 7 children: Maxine (Keith Hillier), Nancy (Roger Mitchell), Jim (Mary Jo), Bob, Christine (Peter Park), Michelle (Earl Woodman), Irene (Mavin Pritchett); grandchildren: Michael (Sara), Jennifer, Amy, Robyn (John),Stephanie (Mitch), April, Elizabeth, Ben, Rebecca, Allison (Jamie); great grandchildren: Kennedy, Ava, Kylie, Lucas; sister Betty Joyce; brothers-in-law: Baxter (Kathy), Terry (Dot), Barry (Bonnie); sister-in-law Ruth Simms; nieces Linda and Terri and many other nieces and nephews and family friends who held a very special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Alice Penney, mother and father-in-law Baxter and Eliza Simms; sisters and brothers: Lil, Johnny, Sid, Annie, Eileen and Joey; brothers-in-law: Sam, Reg and Ken. Very special thank you to Rosemary Burton, Bonnie Simms, Dr. Davis, Colleen Carey and the Nursing Staff at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for your care and kindness.</p>
<p>&nbsp;The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 13<sup>th</sup> at 2:00 pm at the First United Church, Park Street with Reverend John Van Vliet officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Friends may visit Fillatre&rsquo;s Funeral Home 4 St. Marks Avenue on Saturday between the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the First United Church Restoration Fund or to a charity of ones choice.&nbsp;</p>
