It is with great sadness that the family of the Late Wells announce his passing on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at his family residence on Humber Road, Corner Brook at the age of 93 years. Mr. Wells was retired from the Canadian National Railway after 44 years of service. Leaving to mourn with very fond and loving memories his devoted and loving wife of 70 years, Eileen (nee Ruth), children: Jane (Malcolm) White, Pasadena, Phyllis (Gordon) Cass and William (Colleen), Corner Brook; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Sister; Violet Wells, Corner Brook, son-in-law; Roy Batstone, sisters-in-law; Mildred Hutchings, Gertie Gillam, Elsie Wheeler, Ada Wells, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sons Fredrick and Gerald, daughters Ruby Batstone and Melvina, brothers Hugie, Eugene and James Wells. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m.and Friday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 25, at 2:00 p.m. from the Humber United Church, Clarence Street. Rev. Patricia Melindy officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
