<p><em>It is with heavy hearts and great sadness the family of the late Rufus Chaulk announce his passing at Western Regional Memorial Hospital at age of 87.&nbsp;He leaves to mourn his wife of 65 years, Sarah.&nbsp;His children; Jocelyn (Anthony Thurston), Barbara, Brian (Karen Brown).&nbsp;Grand children; Amelia, Beth (Brad Gooderham), Victoria (Darcy Kairys),&nbsp;Dorian (Jason Fitzgerald), Gillian, Katherine, Tristan (Kristen Chambers).&nbsp;Great-grand children; Jackson Dinsdale, Robbie Gooderham.&nbsp;Good friends; Donald Hayes, Evelyn Parrott.&nbsp;His sister; Ethel Tucker. His four legged, furry buddy; Charlie. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Flora and brother, Arthur.&nbsp;</em></p>
<p><em>&nbsp;</em></p>
<p><em>Born in Elliston, NL, Rufus had a varied career, first serving in the military and&nbsp;in the Korean War. Then as a teacher in Indian Islands, Frederickton &amp; Frenchman&rsquo;s Cove,&nbsp;postmaster in Grand Bank and finally as a power engineer in Labrador City.&nbsp;He was a loving husband, wonderful father and a loyal friend.&nbsp;In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rufus can be graciously made to the&nbsp;SPCA.&nbsp; In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place, a celebration of Rufus&rsquo;s life will be held at a later date.&nbsp;</em></p>
