DIANA OSMOND (SKANES) May 24th, 1920 - December 22nd, 2007 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Diana (Skanes) Osmond announces her passing on Saturday, December 22th, 2007 at Chancellor Park in St. John's at the age of 87 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children David (Maxine), Halifax, Derek, Ireland, Margaret, St. John's; grandchildren Heather (Brian King), Ottawa, Trent, Terri, Tina (Dan Chutshoff), BC, Christopher, Nicole ,and Katie, St. John's; great- grand children Lyta, Bryce, Colton, Ashia & Nya, sister Gwen Skanes, Corner Brook; Aunt Emma Mastin, Deer Lake; sisters-in-law Jean Skanes, St. Johns; Win Elliot, Toronto, Grace Parker, Toronto and brother in law Gord (Mary) Osmond (Paris, Ont.) and many loving nieces and nephews especially Brenda Bray, Burlington, Ont., Beverley Skanes (Dave McLennon), St. Johns, Elizabeth Skanes (Kent Jingfors), Bangkok, Thailand; nephews Brian (Roberta) Skanes, Corner Brook, Allan (Dianne) Skanes, Corner Brook, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, her parents Reginald T. and Edith (Hutchings) Skanes, brother Eric Skanes, sister E. Jean Skanes and sister Mary K. Skanes. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue, Corner Brook on Thursday, December 27th from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 28th at 2:00 PM from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with the Very Rev. Michael Rice officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
