It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dr. Douglas Barry May announce his sudden passing in Montreal, Quebec on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at the age of 62. He will be profoundly missed by his family, wife Judith, children Andrew and wife Nicole, Brian and wife Abbi, he will be lovingly remembered as 'Pop' by his 3 dear grandchildren Skyler, Rachel and Trond; also left to mourn sister Marilyn May, brother Kenneth May, sister-in-law Suzanne Black and husband Gary Murphy, brother-in-law Theodore Black and wife Charlene Trappe-Black, nephew Michael Martinez, niece Ginny Black. Dr. May has been a physician with the Western Memorial Regional Hospital since 1977 and will be undoubtedly missed by his many colleagues, patients and their families for his devotion and care over the years. He was predeceased by his parents Douglas and Mona May, brother Martin May and nephew Charles Black. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 6th at 2:30 p.m. from The First United Church, Park Street Reverend Wayne Cole officiating. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue Saturday during the hours 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Cremation has taken place in Montreal. His appreciation and valuing of the natural world was reflected in his lifestyle and in his volunteer contributions through Wilderness & Ecological Reserves Advisory Council, Canadian Parks & Wilderness Society, Humber Natural History Society and The Blow Me Down Cross Country Ski Club. His enjoyment of and commitment to the enviorment and outdoor pursuits is a heritage passed on to his children and grandchildren.
