<p>It is with great loss and sadness that the family of retired S/Sgt Robin J. Smith of Port Saunders announce his sudden passing at the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital in St. Anthony on Friday June 26, 2015. &nbsp;He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Marie (nee House) Smith, sons: Duane (Stefane) Smith Barbeau of Los Angeles and Andrew Smith of Corner Brook; brothers: Lindsay (Dianne) Smith of Saskatoon, SK, and Leslie (Faye) Smith of London, ON; sisters-in-law: Edith <span data-mce-mark="1">(Bill)&nbsp;</span>Howlett Ledrew, Annie Kennedy, Helen House, Irene House, Linda (Dennis) Hewlin, Jean House, and Korina House; cousins Joyce (David) Forbes, Lorna (Dennis) Burnham, Lorraine (Jack) Scott, many very special nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as many many friends. &nbsp;He was predeceased by his parents James and Alison Smith of London, ON.</p>
<p>Robin spent much of his service in Newfoundland and the last years of his career in Ontario. &nbsp;His family moved back to Newfoundland after his retirement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police with 28 years of service.</p>
<p>The family are accepting friends on Saturday and Sunday at the Anglican Church in Port Saunders 2-4 and 7-9 pm. &nbsp;Funeral service will be on Monday, June 29th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Paulette Bugden officiating, followed by cremation. &nbsp;Friends may sign the guest book, leave messages or donations In Memoriam by visiting www.fillatre.ca. &nbsp;Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation or St. John the Divine Anglican Church in Port Saunders, NL. &nbsp;Arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre Funeral Homes in Corner Brook.</p>
