MARY KATHLEEN SKANES Corner Brook, NL March 22nd, 1922 - December 5th, 2007 	 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mary Kathleen Skanes announces her passing on Wednesday, December 5th, 2007 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook at the age of 85 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sisters Gwen Skanes, Corner Brook and Diana Osmond, St. John’s; aunt Emma Mastin, Deer Lake; sister-in-law Jean Skanes, St. John’s; nieces Brenda Bray, Burlington, Ont., Beverley Skanes (Dave McLennon), St. John’s, Elizabeth Skanes (Kent Jingfors), Bangkok, Thailand and Margaret Wilson, St. John’s; nephews Brian (Roberta) Skanes, Corner Brook, Allan (Dianne) Skanes, Corner Brook, David (Maxine) Osmond, Halifax and Derek Osmond, Ireland, as well as a large circle of cousins, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Reginald T. and Edith (Hutchings) Skanes, brother Eric Skanes, sister E. Jean Skanes and brother-in-law Jack Osmond. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue, Corner Brook on Thursday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7th at 10:30 AM from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with the Very Rev. Michael Rice officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
