It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ena Childs announce her passing on Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre, Stephenville Crossing at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Melinda (Quentin) Reader, Fox Island River, Wanda (Richard) Wadden, Quebec, Vera (friend Harvey Sheppard), Lark Harbour and Janet (Ronald) Roberts, Corner Brook; son Todd (Tanya), Stephenville; special grandson Wallace (Barbara), Kippens; special son-in-law Garland Joyce, Corner Brook; grandchildren Jamie, Jason, Michael, Frank, Fred, Deanna, Sara, Jessica, Brandon and Brianna, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Genova Knight, Texas, Irene (Ron) Sheppard, Ontario and Joan (Eli) Bryant, Islington, Trinity Bay; brothers Gary (Helen) Wheeler, Alberta and Billy (Shirley) Wheeler, British Columbia; sisters-in-law Chris Wheeler, Frenchman’s Cove, Edith Wheeler, Corner Brook, Nina Druggett, Doreen Murrin and Mildred Childs all of Lark Harbour, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wallace (May 11, 1980), parents William and Janet (Nee Sheppard) Wheeler, brothers Harold Wheeler and Roland Wheeler, sisters Alice Sheppard and Etta Wheeler. Friends may visit St. James’ Anglican Church, Lark Harbour on Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8th at 11:00 AM with Rev. Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at St. James’ Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James’ Anglican Church, Lark Harbour or St. Ambrose Anglican Church, John’s Beach. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Corner Brook. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.
