She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Eugene Doucette; sons: Christopher Doucette (Maria), Stephen Doucette (Cheree) and Raymond Doucette (Deborah); one special grandson Andrew Doucette; brother Albert Bergeron (Pierette); niece Suzanne Bergeron; brother-in-law: Fred Doucette (Phyllis); sisters-in-law: Ellen Griffin, Margaret Farrell and Ida Doucette; friends: Tony and Florence Newman and Patricia Bennett; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many loyal friends. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Winifred Bergeron. Marie was recognized for her service with St. John Ambulance by the Order of the Hospital of St. John. She received a Certificate of Merit from the Canadian Cancer Society and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Canadian Cancer Support Association. She was an instructor of Nursing Western Memorial Regional Hospital from 1974–1979 and continued her nursing instructing at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and the Janeway in St. John’s from 1979-1990. During that time she took a leave of absence and received her Bachelor of Vocational Education at Memorial University. Marie returned to Corner Brook in 1990 and joined the St. John Ambulance Association and worked with them for 10 years. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 22 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mount Bernard Avenue with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Townsite Cemetery, Montgomerie Street. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the SPCA or a Charity of One’s Choice. The family guest book may be signed or a memorial donation may be made through our website www.fillatre.ca.</span></span></p>
