<p>The family of the late Walter James Hall regret to announce his passing on Wednesday July 2, 2014 at the Hamilton General Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 72. A long time resident of Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Walt was born in North River, Newfoundland to parents James S. Hall and Florence (Snow). He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia, son Jim (Gary O’Toole), daughter Suzanne (Denny Morrison) and his grandsons Alexander and Gabriel Morrison.<br /><br />Throughout his career, Walt worked in Goose-Bay for American forces and the Canadian Government, and served in various positions from 1963 to 1989 when he retired. He and his family operated a convenience store on Pleasant Avenue for 25 years. Walt was active in both the Knights of Columbus and Royal Canadian Legion.<br /><br />Walt is pre-deceased by his parents James and Florence. He is survived by his siblings Gerald, Calvin (Jacomina), Katherine, Lorraine, Florence (Stephen) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.<br /><br />Visitation will be held at Fillatre’s Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4pm, 7-9pm and Thursday 2-4pm, 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church on Friday July 11 at 2pm with internment to follow at the Roman Catholic cemetery.<br /><br />As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada in Walt’s memory are graciously accepted.</p>
