He was predeceased by his wife Melita in 2008, parents Lillian and Herbert, brother Clyde, mother and father-in-law Beatrice and Harvey James, sisters-in-law Tryphenia and Sylvia, nephews Daryl and Glen. He leaves to mourn his sister Sheila (Jerry Billard), Halifax, brothers Winston (Verna), Halifax and Ward, Burgeo; sisters-in-law: Pauline Billard, Halifax, Cassie Miller (Robert), Ontario and Ruth Billard (Cyril), Burgeo; brothers-in-law: Wallace James (Lorraine), Burnt Islands and John James (Jean), Burgeo, nephew Everett James (Marilyn), Burnt Islands; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; as well as his roommate Doug Osmond and all the staff and friends at the Mountain Hope Manor where he resided for the past 6 years. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. from Wesley United Church, Rev.
