It is with great sadness that the family of the late George A. Leamon announce his passing at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre on Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 in his 95th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife Evelyn (nee Dawe) of 65 years; daughters: Florence (Alex) Chaulk, Halifax, Eva (Phil) Boutilier, Halifax, Jane (Tom) MacDonald, St. John's, Mary (Charles) Peck, Catalone, Georgina (Billy) Hayes, Halifax, Donna (Ches) Hancock, Burnt Islands; sons: Keith (Marilyn), Fort McMurray, Barry, Fort McMurray, Gerald (Joan), Fox Creek, Tony (Marjorie) Yellowknife; 27 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; special friends Myrtle & Sydney Chaulk, Hilda King; special neighbours: Della, Allister, Jane & Joshua Caines; as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by parents Robert and Agnes (nee King); sisters: Susan MacDonald, Minnie Leamon, Martha Campbell, Alma Leamon, Triffie Leamon, Bertha MacDonald; brothers: Walter and Lewellyn; brothers-in-law: Ernest MacDonald, Colin Campbell, Andrew MacDonald and sister-in-law Gertrude Smurage. Visitation took place on Tuesday evening, Wednesday and Thursday from St. George's Anglican Church, Burnt Islands, from where the funeral service was held on Friday, July 29th at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. H. Vallis officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.
