<p align="center">Alma Amelia</p> <p align="center">Allen</p> <p align="center">(nee Mitchell)</p> <p align="center">Curling, NL</p> <p align="center">May 27, 1926 – August 23, 2013</p> <p> </p> <p>Passed away peacefully with her husband and family by her side on Friday, August 23, 2013, Alma Amelia Allen (nee Mitchell) in her 87<sup>th</sup> year. Survived by her loving and devoted husband of 67 years James W. "Jim" Allen; daughter Shirley (Greg) Staples; son Dexter (Susan) Allen; grandchildren: James (Jody) Allen, Mark Parsons (Brenda), Cathy Allen, Nicole (Jeffrey) Hussey and Allan (Chrystal) Staples; step-grandson Brian (Mona) Staples; great-grandchildren: Sydney, Shelby, Cooper, Mitchell, Tristan, Amelia, Dawson, Jenna, Brooklyn and Makenna; step-great-grandchildren: Cooper and Charlie; sisters: Anne Hilliard and Wilhelmina (Bill) Osmond; sister-in-law Joan Mitchell; brother-in-law Robert (Melica) Allen; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents William and Emily Mitchell, brothers Leslie, Jeremiah and Maxwell Mitchell, sisters-in-law Jeanette and Renee Mitchell, parents-in-law George and Martha Allen. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Sunday and Monday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 27 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Curling with Rev. Rosemarie Payne officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.
