It was here that Stan learned his welding trade, which he later taught, as well as served as the Department Head at the District Vocational School (now College of the North Atlantic). Stan’s legacy is a life rich in love and faithful service to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to his family, friends, neighbours, and the community he shared for 80 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting, as well as riding his horses through trails on the west coast of Newfoundland. Stan is survived by his wife and love of his life, Brenda (Hunt) Cooper; his daughters, Denise (Tony) Cooper-Melendy, Pat Cooper, Maureen (Jim) Ryan, Lynn (Andy) Duncan, Joanne (Tony) Young; his grandchildren, Dawn Cooper (Cyrus Tsu), Angelina (Frank) Butt, Danielle Ryan, Cameron Harris, Sheldon Young, Beauman Duncan, Nicole Young, Heidi Duncan; his sister, Peggy Duffy; his mother-in-law, Joan Hunt; his sisters-in-law, Jennifer Hunt (Troy White), Paulette (Steve) Christopher, Kathleen Cooper; his five great grandchildren; and, numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 10:00 AM at All Hallows Church, 109 Humber Road, Corner Brook, NL. Stan believed that all individuals are given special talents with which they use to improve and enhance the lives of others. In keeping with Stan’s beliefs and wishes, his family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary School or volunteer services to your community. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to both Dr. Mark Smallwood and Brian Terry for their extraordinary care for Stan over the last several months.
