Selby John Strickland of Mount Moriah, NL passed peacefully away at Western Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 11th, 2018 at the age of 77 years. Leaving to mourn: beloved wife Marie; children Todd (Colleen), Donna and Rhonda (Michael); the joy's of his life, his two grandsons; Zachary and Andrew; sister: Betty Green (Gerald deceased), Hant's Harbour; brothers-in-law: Jim, Ron (Rose), John (Elaine), Ralph, Don (Sharon) and Barry Stirton; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents Gertrude and Arthur; parents-in-law Catherine and George Stirling; sisters: Dorothy Stirton and Linda Strickland (Jim); brothers: Clyde Strickland (Joan) and Arthur; brother-in-law George Stirling. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 218 Curling street on Tuesday from 7-9:00 p.m. Cremation to follow on Wednesday. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, O'Connell Drive with Major's Cory and Pamela Pinksen officiating. Interment to follow at Mt Patrcia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Parksinson' Society.
