JEREMIAH “GERALD” J. GRIFFIN Corner Brook, NL August 13, 1924 - February 4, 2013 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Jeremiah “Gerald” J. Griffin announce his passing on Monday, February 4, 2013 at his residence in Corner Brook at the age of 88 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Muriel (nee Butt); children: Geraldine (Calvin) Parsons, Jerry (Linda) Griffin, Jocelyn (Darren) Bellows, Rosalyn (Ron) Elmy and Kim (Brent) England; grandchildren: Michelle (Todd) McLeod, Tanya (Troy) Penney, Brad Hefferson, Kelly (Nazareth) Thickett, Carolyn (Scott) Thickett-Davis, Crystal (Jeremy) Bellsmith, Nicholas (Victoria) England and Ashley (Shane) Simms; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Jessica, Melissa, Stephen, Brady, Kylee, Ashley, Parker, Emma, Elliott, Abigail, Madison and Nevaeh; great-great-granddaughter Brooklynn; brother Francis Griffin; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Genevieve Lucy Griffin, parents Daniel and Mary Griffin, sisters Mary, Alice, Clara and Ellen, brothers Tom, Jack, Leo, Ron and Jim. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m. from West Side Tabernacle, Elizabeth Street with Pastor Terry Grimes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the heart and Stroke Foundation.
