Happy Valley-Goose Bay It is with great sadness that the family of the late Effie D. Johnson, born on December 3, 1921 in Grand Village (Mudlake) Labrador, announce her passing on June 8, 2018 at Happy Valley-Goose Bay at the age of 96 years. She will be missed by her children, Julie (Darrel) Frederick, Mildred Johnson, Florence Johnson, Beatrice (John) Dickers, James Johnson Jr. (Maharla White); grandchildren, Ronald Johnson, Donald and Debra Frederick, Eric and Louise Perrault, Sam and Florence Dickers and Robert Johnson; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, James E. "Tex" Johnson; her parents, Carl and Martha (McKenzie) Hope; a brother, Jensen Hope; sisters Drucilla and Agnes; and her children Mary and Nicholas. As expressions of sympathy, flowers or a donation to a charity of one's choice are appreciated. Friends may visit the family at Fillatre's Funeral Home on Monday, June 11, 2018 from the hours of 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the United Church in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
