It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis Ward Bird announce his passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques, NL, on Wednesday, January 28th, 2004 at the age of 79 years He was predeceased by his father Thomas, mother Jessie and stepmother Minnie Bird. As well as by his hrothers Cecil, Raymond, Thomas and Jim. He will he sadly missed by his wife of 52 years Melina, daughters: Dora (Guy Durnford), Paradise, Mary (Murdock Furey), Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia, Roberta (Raymond Young), Rose Blanche and Josolyn (George Hardy), Rose Blanche, one son Jason (Kim), Moncton, New Brunswick as well as 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandd1ildren; brothers: Louis Bird, Cape Ray, Cyril Bird. Neil's Harbour, Nova Scotia, Clayton Bird. Rose Blanche. as well as sister's Doru Strickland, Port Aux Basques and Josie Warren as well as other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held on Saturday, January 31, 2004 trom St. James Anglican Church, Channel, Port Aux Basques with Rev. Hugh Fudge officiating. Interment followed in Hillside Haven Cemetery, Margaree. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatres Funeral Home, Port Aux Basques.
