Robert Clifford Hobbs Corner Brook, NL Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 31st, 2012 at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Robert (Bob) Hobbs at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Dorothy, of 58 years; six children: Robert Jr. (Rosie), Diane Legge (Donald), Shirley Pittman (Brian), James (Genevieve), Randall (Janice) and Keith (Carolyn); nine grandchildren: Wendy, Gregory (Samantha), Jonathon (Jennifer) Hobbs, Heather Legge (Andrew Hiscock), Bradley Pittman (Carole), Carolyn Mercer (Jamie), Stephen Hobbs, Ryan and Rebecca Hobbs; five great grandchildren: Izabella and Hendrix Hobbs, Benjamin Hiscock , Lucas Mercer and Stephanie Pittman; brothers and sisters-in-law: Olive Penney, Fred Andrews, Cluney Penney (Sophie), Robert Penney (Diane), Clayton Penney (Hazel), Marjorie Craniford, Elva Cull (Aubrey), Kay Coish (Ross), Donna Donahue (Mark) and Guy Cull; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: James and Dorothy Hobbs; sister: Elizabeth Andrews; sister-in-law: Joan Cull and parents-in-law: Stanley and Florence Penney. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Thursday evening, 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3rd at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, Park Street, with interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Reverend Clayton Parsons officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home or to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Hospital.
