MONICA LAURETIG (nee Hickey) It is with great sadness that the family of the late Monica Lauretig (nee Hickey) announce her passing on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the Lakeshore Hospital in Montreal at the age of 79 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband John; son John (Christine); sisters: Gertrude McCarthy, Mary (Robert) McCarthy and Dorothy Companion; brother James Hickey; sister-in-law Vera Hickey; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Mary Anne and James Hickey, brothers John, Martin, George, Nathaniel and Leo Hickey. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 8 at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Benoit’s Cove with Father Edmund Camacho officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Benoit’s Cove. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish.
