James Allan Gillis Highlands, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late James “Jim” Gillis announce his passing at the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook on Friday, July 20th, 2012 at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons: Darren (Donna), Darryl, Reg, Gary (Evelyn); daughter: Joanne; grandchildren: Adam and Megan, Cody and Lana, Jordan, Daniel (Joanne); one great granddaughter: Keisha, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Mary and James Gillis; sisters: Katie, Dorothy, Nance, Genevieve, Blanche and Madeline; brothers: John and Paul. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends and family may visit St. Columcille Roman Catholic Church in St. Fintan’s on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. from where the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at the Church cemetery in Highlands. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
