It is with great sadness that the family of the late Marjorie Ryan announce her passing on Thursday, July 5th, 2012 at the Palliative Care Unit, Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 85 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her two daughters: Linda Vincent and Joan Lidstone (Everett); one son: Reginald Ryan (Shirley); six grandchildren: Victoria O’Grady (John), Vanessa Figliuzzi (Joe), Joanne LaSaga (Darren), Barb Tiller (Randy) , Todd Ryan (Cathy) and Nicole Poole (Joey); twelve great grandchildren: James McMeeken, Aidan O’Grady, Cassandra and Sabrina Figliuzzi, Cameron LaSaga, Savanna and Cole Tiller, Jonathan and Jessica Ryan, Dylan, Dwayne and David Poole; brother: Ralph McWhirter; sisters: Beth Ryder, Judy Joyce (Norbert); brothers and sisters–in-law: Gord Reid, Mike Murphy, Budd Walker, Peggy Gilliam, Irene Tarbett, Florence Francis (Walter), Dot Ryan, Alfreda Ryan, Maisie Ryan, Roy Ryan (Mabel), Clary Ryan (Aggie), Shirley McDonald (Howard) and Rita Locke (John); as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John Jack Ryan; mother and father: George and Alice McWhirter, mother and father-in-law: Margaret and John Ryan; brothers: Harry (Mary) McWhirter, Fred (Madge) McWhirter; sisters: Alfreda McWhirter, Lottie Reid, Laureen Park (Howard), Shirley Clarke (Leonard), Alice Burggraaf, Barbara Murphy, Mary Ryan; brothers and sisters-in-law: Julia and Andrew Wilsack, Raymond Ryan, Roland Ryan, Clifford Ryan, Marie and Bart Callahan, Cyril Gilliam, William Tarbett, Doreen McWhirter and Stuart Ryder. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 8th at 2:00 p.m. from Humber United Church, Clarence Street. Reverend Clayton Parsons officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Hospital.
