Bertram G. Brake Corner Brook, NL It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bertram Brake announce his passing on Friday, June 1st, 2012 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 76. Bert was just recently inducted into the Newfoundland and Labrador Hockey Hall of Fame, the Player category, and was due to receive the honor on June 9th, 2012. Leaving to mourn his ever devoted children: Lynn Brake, Lori Veitch (John), and Peter (Bobbie) Brake; daughter-in-law: Juanita Brake; three grandsons: Drew Hynes (Krista), Adam and David Brake; as well as many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Isobel; son Bert Jr.; grandsons: Nathan and Shaun Brake; son-in-law: Ed Hynes; parents: Frederick and Melissa Brake; sister: Maxine and brothers: Frederick and Melbourne. Granting his wishes, cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Visitation will take place from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Saturday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 4th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church, Park Drive. The Interment will follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery, with Reverend Roberta Woodman officiating. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made the charity of one’s choice.
