WILFRED PETER “WIFF” STRATTON Massey Drive, NL October 19, 1921 - February 1, 2012 It is with profound sadness that the family of Wilfred Peter Stratton announce his passing on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 90 years. Wiff was one of the first residents of Massey Drive. Left with a sense of emptiness in our lives are his wife of 34 years, Phyllis (Yates), daughters Judi (Gene), Carol (Andrew), Lynda (Duke) and Nancy; son Peter (Joy); stepsons Brian, Wayne (Tracy) and Kerry; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 6 step grandchildren; brother Ray (Joan), sister Ruby and brothers Rodney (Jessie), Edgar (Kitty) and David (Patricia); and sisters Muriel (Ira), Marjorie (Lindy), Huldah (Gordon) and June (Charlie) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary (Minnie); son Ricky; parents Abel and Mildred (Dwyer) Stratton; stepmother Jessie; brother Edgar (childhood) and brother Winston (in infancy) and brother-in-law William Lee. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Home Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Rev. Myles Vardy officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland & Labrador.
