It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roy Hopkins announce his passing on Wednesday, December 28th, 2011 at the Labrador Health Centre at the age of 71 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife Melvina; children: Lorne, Jenneane (Fred), Janet, Loriann (Larry), Yvonne (Paul); step-children: Marlene (Wayne), Derrick (Bonnie), Jackie (Dennis), Debbie (Dean), Pauline (Josh), Connie; grandchildren: Kathyrn, Benjamin, Brooke, Logan, Lacey, Heather, Bobbie-Lee, Jenny, Brody, Preston; step-grandchildren: Janine, Mandy, Melissa, Andy, Tiffiny, Nakita, Cody, Dylan, Nicholas, Joshua, Tori-Lee, Jada; sisters: Marguerite (Les), Olive (Allen), Effie, Betty (Gord), Tina (Terry), Emma (Harvey); brothers: Randolph (Ann), Percy (Rowena), Esau (Josephine), Wilbert (Joan), Wilfred (Regina), as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his common-law wife Kathy; parents Jonas and Tammer; sisters Kate and Louise. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, Happy Valley Goose Bay on Thursday December 29th and Friday, December 30th from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 31st at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Church. Interment following at the United Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the family or the charity of one's choice.
