HERRIDGE George E. Port Aux Basques, NL Dec 4, 1925 - May 17, 2005 It is with great sadness that the family of the late George E. Herridge announce his passing at LeGrow Health Centre on Tuesday, May 17th, 2005 in his 79th year. Born and raised in Port aux Basques, George was a fisherman and well known for his fine carpentry. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his five daughters: Kathleen Campbell (Tom), Massachusetts, Cheryl Lushman (Gilbert), Nova Scotia, Iris Cooney (Peter), Ontario, Karen Strickland, Port aux Basques, Stella Anderson (Rick), Port aux Basques; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters: Kathleen Gerety, New Hampshire, Valetta Winchester, Massachusetts, Edith Farrell, Ontario, and Stella Favale, Massachusetts; as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Lilly Ann (nee Crewe) and George Herridge, sister Evelyn Gouker, brothers: William Warren, Frank and Ross Herridge. Visitation took place on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held from Wesley United Church on Friday, May 20th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ritchie and Rev. Fudge officiating. Interment followed at Wesley United Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fillatre's Funeral Home, Port aux Basques.
