CLEVERLY H. “CLEVE” BEST Corner Brook, NL 1935 - 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cleve Best announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, August 4, 2011at the age of 76 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Sheila (nee Griffin) the love of his life and best friend; three children: Doreen (Gary Pardy), Ed (Linda) and Kathy; five grandchildren: Tracy (Craig Tiller), Troy( Karalyn) Pardy, Shannon Best (Christina), Sara Best (Jamie Vatcher) and Stephanie Best (Rod); three great grandchildren: Abigail Tiller, Jada Vatchor and Jordan Best; two step-children: Lana (Raymond Brown) and Troy Murrin; three sisters: Mildred Lockyer, Maude Rowe and Jessie Humber; mother-in-law: Mrs. Nora Griffin; near and dear to his heart, his special musician friends: Clyde Way, Mel Way, Pat Hynes, Reg Brown, Walter Devoe, Aubrey Way, Randy Hunt, Harold Wheeler, Paul Barry and Lloyd Bartlett; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary (Toots) Best, March 1993, and his best buddy, Charlie Lockyer, April 2009. Cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Saturday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. from where funeral prayers will be held from the chapel at 8:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Tanya White. There will be no formal service. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to one’s choice.
