Edward Hezekiah (Kie) Gullage October 5, 1913 – July 28, 2011 Passed peacefully away at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home on Thursday, July 28th, 2011 at the age of 97. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Pearl (nee White); daughter: Derrice Jadis, White Rock, BC; son: Fred (Terry), Corner Brook; son-in-law: Cyril Sweetapple, Corner Brook; sister Elaine Coates (Ross), London, ON; sister-in-law: Ruby Gullage, Corner Brook; grandchildren: Peter (Patty) Jadis, Langley, BC, David (Andrea) Jadis, Surrey, BC, Stephen Gullage, Corner Brook, Jennifer Gullage (Ken Payne), Taber, AB, Gail Coady, Winnipeg, MB, Derrice Knight (John), Chestermere, AB; great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Sarah, Danica, Connor and Lauren Jadis; Emma Robin, Gina Coady and Lydia Baydack, Jordan Knight; great great grandchildren: Leah Robin and Kellen Baydack; step-son: Ben MacLean (Karen), New Glasgow, NS and step-daughter: Irene Bartlett (Robert), Leitches Creek, NS; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Hezekiah and Jessie Gullage; his first wife, Doris (nee Colbourne); daughter: Madge Sweetapple; brothers: Fred, John and George; sister: Maude Churchill; brother-in-law: Earle Churchill and sister-in-law: Mildred Gullage. Kie was born in Catalina and moved to Corner Brook in the early days of the paper mill. After working with the company he started his own plumbing and heating business in the forties from which he retired in the sixties. He enjoyed an active retirement, hunting, fishing and travelling until very recently. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staffs of Mountainview Estates and the Corner Brook Long Term Care Home for their care and concern. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 5th at 2:00 P.M. from the Cathedral of St. John The Evangelist, Main Street. Reverend Michael Rice and Archbishop Stewart Payne officiating. The interment to follow at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, a memorial donation may be made to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Bay of Island’s SPCA or a charity of one’s choice.
