It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ivan Byrne announce his passing on Tuesday, March 15th, 2005 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 69 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 45 years Doris (nee Sheppard); his five children: Clinton (Karen) Byrne and their children Adriane and Melissa, Meadows, daughter Laura Byrne (partner Kevin Mahar) and her children, Megan, Kimberly and Mark, Corner Brook, daughter Pamela (Andre Rossignol) and their children Robyn, Jordan and Brooke, Nova Scotia, one great-grandchild Taylor, son: Robert Byrne (partner William Clayton), Nova Scotia, son Mark (Millie) Byrne and their children Jessie and Jacob, Stephenville; brothers and sisters: Thomas (Elva) Byrne, Maisie (Henry) Kendell, Gerald (Dorothy) Byrne, Leo (Marie) Byrne, David (Shirley) Byrne, Hazel Weibe (partner Ron Fewer), Annie (Doug Duffney), Kathleen (Eric Sheppard), Lynn (Harland) Cross, Ben (Catherine) Byrne; brothers and sisters-in-law: Ena Murrin, Sybil (Frank) Lamaire, Lottie (Norman Childs), Phyllis Kendell (Eugene), Harvey Sheppard (partner Vera), Bernard Sheppard, Hilda (Albert) Wheeler, Joan (Gordon) Youden, Greg Sheppard (partner Debbie), Rhonda Sheppard (partner Terry), as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Mark and Margaret Byrne, two children Jeffrey and Clement and brother Brian. Friends may visit St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour on Wednesday and Thursday from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. from where the Funeral Service will take place on Friday, March 18th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Nellie Thomas and Sister Donna Kelly officiating. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Your Harbour. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Victoria Order of Nurses (VON), The Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice.
